By abandoning the bass line and using both hands on the melody side of the Stick, block chord solos can be played twice as fast and much more legato. One way to do it is to use chord sequences with diminished seventh passing chords between the resting chords and play all the diminished passing chords with the left hand. That way it can stay locked in one shape while your right hand concentrates on changing shapes to play the resting chords.
