This device, designed by Lippold Haken around 1995-1996, was used to connect a digital phone line from the central computer in Champaign/Urbana to multiple users in a PLATO/NovaNET classroom in a different part of the country. It could either be wired to the serial ports of multiple computers or plugged into the site's LAN.
